Something significant happened in my studio in 1985, its name was Timespan.
The work incorporates many elements of the inner drivers at that period of my life.
Politics, Egyptology, Aminata my daughter and the desire to create a wall. I like walls, especially the old peeling, crumbling kind that you can see all over Provence, in the south of France.
I had gathered the materials around me scattered on the floor as usual. The cat form had already been drawn, then my mind wandered into that zone of free space that we call creative thinking.
I reached out, picked up a jar of lamp black pigment, sprinkled it onto the glistening paint "Et Voila !"
Timespan became manifest.
